DAY 0: JOMO KENYATTA AIRPORT AND TRANSFER TO NAIROBI

You will leave from Nairobi for the first destination not later than 6 a.m.

We recommend you to stay one night in Nairobi the day before your safari. You can use this time visiting the city and its main attractions: David Sheldrick Orphanage, Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum. Or you can just rest and refresh up after your flight.

You will meet your guide/driver on the following day , leaving for the first destination.

We wish to suggest you some accomodation you would love:

DAY 1: LEWA CONSERVANCY

Enjoy a fantastic breakfast at your hotel.

Then, meet and greet your Paka Safaris representative who will accompany you, in order to assist you during the course of this adventure. The person who will come with you will be also your safari designer, the one who created this itinerary, and professional guide.

Together you will transfer to the domestic airport.

Hop into your light-aircraft flight to Lewa Conservancy where your safari driver and guide will be waiting to greet you.

You’ll enjoy a game drive during the trip to the camp, where you will be spending 2 nights (minimum).

And after a fantastic lunch at the camp, you’ll enjoy your new home and relax.

Sirikoi offers fabulous comfort, unmatched wildlife viewing and world class gourmet food in an atmosphere where you feel at one with nature and wildlife. The area is malaria free and has a beautiful spring-like climate almost year round.

In the afternoon, venture out on a game drive, or on foot, to explore the bush.

Spend your game drives seeking out the diverse wildlife which includes lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, hippo, giraffe and even black and white rhinos!

The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an award-winning model for community conservation. Starting out with just 15 black rhinos in 1984, Lewa’s rhino population has since risen steadily, making the Conservancy the pioneer rhino conservation success story in Kenya and East Africa. Today there are 89 black and white rhino protected on the Conservancy, with over 20 having been moved to restock previously inhabited areas as well as introduce the species to new suitable and secure habitats.

After a full day of adventure, relax by the pool while dinner is prepared for you.

DAY 2: LEWA CONSERVANCY

Full day at this enchating location.

Days at Sirikoi can be as busy or relaxing as you wish, with activities including game drives, horse riding, Ngare Ndare forest expeditions and Ngwesi cultural visits.

But what you will love most will be the opportunity to enjoy a haunting scenic flight.

This early morning helicopter or plane excursion takes you over the peaks and majestic wilderness of Mt. Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa. You may choose to do a scenic flight and then return to camp for breakfast or, if in a helicopter, enjoy stopping for a picnic breakfast on the shores of a remote alpine lake with extraordinary montane scenery, with a chance to fish for rainbow trout.

Or you may wish to be taken on a north-east flight over Shaba National Reserve to the extraordinary Magado Crater, where pools of saline water shine with all the colours of the rainbow and local cave-dwelling miners eke a living collecting salt to sell to pastoral people in remote rural markets. You will have the opportunity to explore the area and meet the miners. After refreshments, you will fly above the course of the Ewaso Nyiro River where, amongst other animals, you should be on the lookout for crocodiles and hippo.

This opportunity is unique and not found elsewhere. You may decide also to request for your 4K movie to bring home a flavour of your trip and share with your friends. Our Paka Safaris professional cameraman will accompany you and film your once in a lifetime adventure.

Or, you may decide to hop into a bi-plane and enjoy a scenic flight like in the movie “Out of Africa”!

We have selected the best accomodation for you within Lewa Conservancy:

DAY 3: YOUR JOURNEY ENDS

It’s time to bid farewell to the bush.

After breakfast and a morning game drive you will go back to Nairobi in time to connect with your international flight or you may decide to continue to the coast for a Beach Holiday: you may choose to stay at our exclusive Nyumba ya Paka Boutique Hotel.

EXTENSION

You can add as many nights as you wish. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a vital wildlife corridor connecting Kenya’s wild and arid north with the lush Mount Kenya ecosystem. The wildlife is abundant and includes many rare endangered species such as reticulated giraffe, black and white rhino, and the largest resident population of Grevy’s zebra in the world. Elusive leopard and wild dog sightings, and families of elephant have carved Sirikoi into their migratory routes and almost daily big herds can be seen just in front of the Sirikoi deck for hours at a time. So, you will never want to leave this place!

You may also decide to join this safari to other luxury safari programs. For example you can add other 2 nights at Mara Naboisho Conservancy and / or at Kalama Conservancy, near Samburu National Park, transferring from one area to the other one by light aircraft: feel free to contact us for suggestions!
