DAY 0: JOMO KENYATTA AIRPORT & TRANSFER TO NAIROBI

We will leave from Nairobi for the first destination not later than 6 a.m.

If your flight lands later, it will be necessary to stay one night in Nairobi. You can use this time visiting the city and its main attractions: David Sheldrick Orphanage, Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum. Or you can just rest and refresh up after your flight.

In case you decide not to visit the city, you will meet your guide/driver in the evening, on the day before safari.

We have selected the best accomodation for you. You can choose between:

DAY 1: MASAI MARA

After breakfast, move to Masai Mara travelling a scenographic road across the ancient Rift Valley.

Enjoy lunch and explore the open grassy plains of Masai Mara in the afternoon.

The National Reserve is well known for the millions of wildebeest and zebra who migrate across the plains between July and October and it is abundant of game all year round.

We have selected the best accomodation for you. You can choose between:

DAY 2: MASAI MARA

Wake early for another full day in this incredible setting.

With riverine forests and short grass plains, this area is renowned for the most exceptional big game viewing worldwide.

Perhaps, today you’d like to float high above the plains in a hot air balloon, gazing out over the vast Mara as animals graze and hunt below.

Tonight you will dine under the stars in the middle of savannah: a private and exclusive bush dinner just for you!

DAY 3: LAKE NAIVASHA

After a morning game drive, we drive to Lake Naivasha.

Here, you will stay at Elsamere Lodge, the former holiday house of the famous conservationists George and Joy Adamson, those ones who raised Elsa the lioness. This is not a simple lodge, but also a conservation fund and a museum.

It will be wonderful to walk among old black and white photos of lions and re-kindle the memories of Born Free.

In the afternoon you will explore the bird teeming waters of the lake during an enchanting boat ride at sunset. You will closely see hippos, fish eagles on a hunt, antilopes and pelicans, surrounded by a magic athmosphere.

This is the accomodation we have selected for you

DAY 4: AMBOSELI

Today your next destination is the famous Amboseli National Park. Everyone wants to experience the magnificent views over the border to Kilimanjaro, and feel the romantic atmosphere that comes from being in her presence.

The National Park has a thriving elephant population which sets you up for that ‘must have’ photograph in the foreground of the stunning snow-capped Mountain.

You will have luxurious accomodation here. You may choose to stay at Tawi Luxury Lodge, located within 6,000 acres of pristine and private nature with sweeping views of Mt Kilimanjaro. The ideal location for those ones who does’t like the buzz of crowd.

Here, you can decide to do walking safari, and/or a night game drive in the private reserve, followed by an intimate bush dinner under the stars (extra cost).

Or, you may choose to stay at Kibo Camp, a medium-high level tented camp, very close to the Park entrance gate.

Here it is not allowed to do any bush dinner or walking safari, but we can require a special permit for night game drive within the National Park if you like: as it gets dark, the spotlight is pulled out to continue with your night drive, giving you the opportunity to spot the nocturnal wildlife, such as predators on a hunt, genets and bushbabies.

You can even choose to add one more night at Amboseli, so that you can take things more slowly.

DAY 5: TSAVO WEST

Today we leave Amboseli and Kilimanjaro and we head to the nearby Tsavo West National Park.

Travel through an expanse of lush, jungle-like forest where you may encounter elephants, kudu, eland and oryx.

Visit its lunar landscape at Shetani Flow, a vast expanse of folded black lava which spreads for 50 sq km across the savannah at the foot of Chyulu Hills.

Then, stretch your legs while exploring Mzima Springs on foot, a series of natural springs inhabited by hippos and crocodiles. The natural filtration process made by the volcanic lava rocks of Chyulu Hills gives rise to Mzima’s famously clear stream, which flows through a series of pools and rapids.

We have selected the best accomodation for you. You can choose between:

DAY 6: TSAVO EAST

Today we continue on by road to Tsavo East National Park, which is so close to Tsavo West, but so different at the same time, consisting of semi-arid grasslands and savanna. The Yatta Plateau, the world’s longest lava flow, 290 km lenght, runs along the boundary of the park.

You may encounter here the famous Tsavo maneless lions.

This is the accomodation we have selected for you

DAY 7: YOUR JOURNEY ENDS

It’s time to bid farewell to the bush.

After breakfast and a morning game drive you will go back to the coast for your Beach Holiday: you may choose to stay at our exclusive Lions House Wellness Boutique Hotel.

REDUCTION

If you prefer, you can reduce the duration of this safari, doing it in 5 days. In this case you skip Masai Mara going from Nairobi to Lake Naivasha on the first day. This change will allow you to do a thrilling trekking among Hell’s Gate National Park gorges or to the summit of Mount Longonot in the morning and a boat trip on the lake at sunset, to see hippos and fish eagles close up.

If you like, you can even reduce the safari more, and drive to Amboseli on the first day skipping Lake Naivasha.
