SERVICES EXCLUDED

DAY 0: JOMO KENYATTA AIRPORT AND TRANSFER TO NAIROBI

You will leave from Nairobi for the first destination not later than 6 a.m.

We recommend you to stay one night in Nairobi the day before your safari. You can use this time visiting the city and its main attractions: David Sheldrick Orphanage, Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum. Or you can just rest and refresh up after your flight.

You will meet your guide/driver on the following day , leaving for the first destination.

We wish to suggest you some accomodation you would love:

DAY 1: KALAMA CONSERVANCY

Enjoy a quick breakfast at your hotel.

Then, meet and greet your Paka Safaris representative who will accompany you, in order to assist you during the course of this adventure. The person who will come with you will be also your safari designer, the one who created this itinerary, and professional guide.

This morning you will travel to the private and unspoilt Kalama Conservancy, bordering Samburu National Reserve.

This remote and dramatic landscape is also home to the local Samburu people whose age-old traditions, including the famed ‘singing wells’ are as much a part of the land as the wildlife.

During you travel, you will cross the equator line and observe fantastic landscapes: Aberdare Range forests, coffee plantations, and the peaks of the majestic Mount Kenya.

You will reach Kalama Conservancy by late morning/midday hours.

And after a fantastic lunch at the camp, you’ll enjoy your new home and relax in your tent or by the pool.

You may decide also to request for your 4K movie to bring home a flavour of your trip and share with your friends. Our Paka Safaris professional cameraman will accompany you and film your once in a lifetime adventure, if you wish.

In the afternoon, venture out on a game drive, or on foot, to explore the plains and the hills of Kalama Conservancy and Samburu National Park.

Spend your game drives seeking out the diverse wildlife which includes lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, and the Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, somali ostrich, gerenuk and oryx beisa. The first two species are found only in the eastern part of Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia, not elsewhere.

In the evening enjoy a fantastic sundowner among the plains with a drink in your hand.

And after a full day of adventure, relax a bit in your splendid tent while dinner is prepared for you.

We have selected the best accomodation for you. See below:

DAY 2: KALAMA CONSERVANCY

Wake early for another full day in this enchanting location.

Your days here will be spent marveling at the beauty of this breathtaking region, rising early with the sun for game drives followed by a full brunch prepared for you at camp or in the middle of savannah.

And when you feel hungry, mid morning or midday hours, you hop from the vehicle to survey this wonderland. Moments later, your table awaits you. This is your Private Bush breakfast and / or lunch! It’s highly unlikely that you have ever started the day in such a glorious location, or in such fantastic isolation. No fellow diners: just you, our chef your driver and your guide, serving an array of delicious buffet delicacies.

Today you may also choose to enjoy a thrilling night game drive and a walking safari with Samburu warriors.

DAY 3: SOLIO RANCH

After a hearty breakfast, we continue on by road to Solio Ranch, a special private reserve nestled between Mount Kenya and the Aberdares. It’s defined as one of the most successful private rhino conservation reserves in Kenya, where black and white rhinos graze in harmony with other ungalates.

The area is fenced meaning that game is dense and easier to find than in a more wilderness setting. The slightly cooler climate will be an ideal break from the hotter weather in Samburu for some.

We have selected the best accomodation for you. You can choose between:

DAY 4: LAKE NAIVASHA

After breakfast, head to Lake Naivasha.

The lodge where you’ll stay is not only a lodge, but a conservation centre and a museum as well. This was the holiday house owned by George and Joy Adamson, the conservationists who raised Elsa the lioness. Re-kindle the memories of Born Free by wandering among black and white photographs, watching Adamsons’ documentary, and visiting  the museum. After lunch, let your guide take you to the boat to have the opportunity to spot hippos, waterbuks and fish eagles hunting small fishes. This place is rich in story and charm.

In the afternoon you will hop into a private boat to discover the lake, and see hippos and fish eagles on a hunt. Marvel at the beauty of the sunset on the calm waters.

At night several zebras, giraffes and antilopes may come to the lodge for grazing, just in front of the restaurant. Just Amazing!

This is the accomodation we have selected for you

DAY 5: MARA NORTH, LEMEK AND OL CHORRO CONSERVANCIES

This morning wake up early and transfer to one of the ‘Seven New Wonders of the World.

Masai Mara, home to the Great Wildebeest Migration, is arguably one of the most famous game reserves in the world. But you will not stay at the National Reserve, you will stay at the most exclusive Mara North Conservancy, far away from mass tourism, and situated north the Reserve. Choosing this trip, you will have the permission to have game drives not only within Mara North Conservancy, but within the nearby Lemek and Ol Chorro Conservancies as well.

These three conservancies limit the number of beds per acre and also the number of tourists who may enter the area, thereby reducing the crowds of vehicles. Guests often find themselves the only vehicle around, giving spectacular, unspoiled views of exciting wildlife. They are not governed by the same rules that apply to national parks, there is the flexibility to experience something truly profound and to see and do things not possible in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, like night game drives, walk safaris, and bush meals as well. The concentration of predators here is very high.

Today you will reach your camp by lunch.

In the afternoon, venture out on a game drive to explore the bush.

Spend your game drives seeking out the diverse wildlife which includes lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, hippo, giraffe and much more.

After a full day of adventure, relax at your new home, while dinner is prepared for you.

This is the accomodation we have selected for you:

DAY 6: MARA NORTH, LEMEK AND OL CHORRO CONSERVANCIES

Wake up early today and have your morning game drive among Mara plains with your personal guide, in search of wildlife.

And when you feel hungry you hop from the vehicle to survey this wonderland. Moments later, your table awaits you. This is your Private Bush breakfast and / or lunch, as you wish ! It’s highly unlikely that you have ever started the day in such a glorious location, or in such fantastic isolation. No fellow diners: just you, our chef your driver and your guide, serving an array of delicious buffet delicacies.

In the afternoon you could head out on another game drive or you might want to relax in your tent or by the pool watching wildlife around.

As action packed as it all seems, the real excitement of the savannah doesn’t take place until after the sun has set and the safari tourists have returned to camp for a long, lazy dinner. At night the lions lift themselves out of their daily torpor and start tracking zebra, the leopard you’d been watching dozing in the tree slips down into the undergrowth and chases after whatever moves whilst dozens of species that remained buried deep underground in the day emerge with the moon to forage, hunt and scavenge.

The problem for us sensory stunted humans though is that we can’t see much of this action. Here , you can have night safaris using spotlights to search out the action. Join us on the dark side of a safari.

You may decide also to join a thrilling night game drive with a night bush dinner for a special evening!

DAY 7: JOUR JOURNEY ENDS

It’s time to bid farewell to the bush.

After breakfast and a morning game drive you will go back to Nairobi in time to connect with your international flight or you may decide to fly to the coast for a Beach Holiday: you may choose to stay at our exclusive Nyumba ya Paka Boutique Hotel.

EXTENSION

You can add as many nights as you wish. The conservancy boasts impressive herds of elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, and zebra, together with many predators! So, you will never want to leave this place!
