MASAI MARA

Maasai Mara National Reserve covers 1,510 square km in south-western Kenya and is part of Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. It is one of the world’s greatest wildlife destinations, being home to the famous two thousand wildebeest and zebra migration.

The herds arrive in Kenya in late July, beginning of August, from Tanzania’s Serengeti plains, seeking fresh grazing; a 600 mile strenuous travel and the Mara River is the final obstacle. The river crossings are a very excting attraction because crocodiles are lying in wait. The herds stay there for the remainder of the dry season then, in early November, with the start of the short rains and once they have feasted, they turn around and go back to Serengeti.

There’s nothing more beautiful than seeing this magic event from a private vehicle or from a hot air balloon!

You will rave about its endless golden grassland and abundance of wildlife. All members of Big Five are found there!
