DAY BY DAY ITINERARY:

DAY 0: JOMO KENYATTA AIRPORT AND TRANSFER TO NAIROBI

You will leave from Nairobi for the first destination not later than 6 a.m.

We recommend you to stay one night in Nairobi the day before your safari. You can use this time visiting the city and its main attractions: David Sheldrick Orphanage, Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum. Or you can just rest and refresh up after your flight.

You will meet your guide/driver on the following day , leaving for the first destination.

We wish to suggest you some accomodation you would love:

DAY 1: ABERDARE

You’ll left behind Kenya’s capital city very early in the morning, heading to Aberdare National Park.

Today will be spent marveling at the beauty of this breathtaking region which offers a wide range of landscapes: from the mountain peaks to their deep, v-shaped valleys intersected by crystal streams, rivers, and waterfalls. Moorlands, rainforests and bamboo forests are inhabited by elephants, black and white colobus mokey, leopards and rhinos.

You’ll have a pic nic lunch in the forest, then you will continue the game drive to see Chania Falls and the tallest waterfalls in Kenya, Karuru falls, plunging 273 metres below the viewing point.

Dinner and overstay at Treetops lodge, where Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II descended as queen.

DAY 2: SAMBURU

After breakfast this morning, leave the forests of Aberdare Range and cross the equator line travelling to Samburu National Reserve, a remote and pristine protected area, far away the mass market tourism.

This is your typical enchanting African landscape that attracts a wide variety of game including the Grevy zebra, the biggest zebra in Africa. Leopard can also be seen wondering through the tall grasses in pursuit of a meal.

Lunch and dinner at the camp.

We have selected the best accomodation for you. You can choose between:

DAY 3: SAMBURU

Enjoy great game drives and the stunning wildlife of Samburu today.

The stars of the show up here in the remote north are undoubtedly the Special 5, a rare collection of unusual animals not found in the southern reserves. Gerenuk, Reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich and Oryx Beisa.

In the late afternoon, stop on a hill and watch the captivating sunset with a drink in hand!

Dinner and overstay at your camp.

DAY 4: SOLIO RANCH

After a morning game drive en route to the Park Gate, you will continue by road to Solio Ranch, a special private reserve nestled between Mount Kenya and the Aberdares. It’s defined as the most successful private rhino conservation reserves in Kenya, where black and white rhinos graze in harmony with other ungalates.

The area is fenced meaning that game is dense and easier to find than in a more wilderness setting. The slightly cooler climate will be an ideal break from the hotter weather in Samburu for some.

We have selected the best accomodation for you. You can choose between:

DAY 5: YOUR JOURNEY ENDS

It’s time to bid farewell to the bush.

After breakfast you will go back to Nairobi in time to connect with your international flight or domestic flight to the coast for a Beach Holiday: you may choose to stay at our exclusive Nyumba ya Paka Boutique Hotel or you can rent our whole villa Lions House, if you are a big group.

REDUCTION

If you prefer to reduce costs and duration, you can do this safari in 4 days – 3 nights. In this case you will skip Aberdare National Park, driving from Nairobi directly to Samburu National Reserve. This will take approximately 6 hour drive, in the middle of a beautiful landscape in the heart of Aberdare Range.
